Week 33 in the year of pleasure

The Pleasure

Sixty seven points, seventy two last week

And a 33:1 pleasure to pain ratio

A selection of the pleasure

Fig picking

Pretty much anything that turns slowly from firm vibrant green to luscious deep purple all by itself and seemingly for my entertainment and delight gets major points in my book.

Last weekend my gentlemanfriend cut the grass for me (he’s not sure my back is up to it yet and I’m barely managing even a weak protest to stop him), while he did that, I picked figs.

The colours* are amazing.

They held my rapt attention for ages and I started playing round arranging them, in a bowl, on a plate, on the wood of the table outside and then taking photographs and then my gentlemanfriend started playing round with them too, and arranging them and taking photographs.

By a fruit.

There aren’t many times that I’m a cheap date but this was one of those times.

*I think I’ve been reading too much American as I now think that spelling of colour looks a bit odd.

Surprising empathy, actual help and good chats

All from my wee man.

What a surprising and unexpected pleasure.

Gazing out of the window into the distance while my mind whirred away at something, I started to focus on something in the tree outside.

Then I got impatient to know what it was and then allowed myself the luxury of all the time I wanted to watch it.

Such a pleasure in that moment of granting myself permission to take time.

And then the relaxed and curious watching and wondering what this squirrel/bird hybrid could actually be.

Lovely lovely feeling….no rush, no hurry.

One of my favourite states.

Especially when I pluck it from within another more hurried state and give it to myself.

The Pain

Excruciatingly bureaucratic paperwork

2 hours to re tabulate details into the acceptable format.

breathe, breathe, breathe

The pain I did something about

If I had to do the re tabulating I’d at least do it outside in the sunshine and reward myself with time to read afterwards.

Done. Better.

The Pleasure Posse

A selection from The Pleasure Posse who’ve been using the #itsapleasure hash tag on twitter

It could be a twitter error but there’s no #itsapleasure posts on twitter at all this week. That includes me ¬†though and I had sixty seven points I could have been splashing them about all over the place. Reclusive week it seems.

How about you?

I’d love to hear, your pleasure, pain or pain you did something about

You’re most welcome….come and talk pleasure and pain in the comments

Or of course you can tweet about it. And if you use the #itsapleasure hash tag we’ll all be able to see.
